about
Parents say weird things to their children like "Don't swallow watermelon seeds or it'll grow into a plant inside your stomach" but my Mother always told me that I came from Pluto... And thus the idea for this song was brought to life.
The general meaning of the song is that nothing can take away or diminish the memories you experience with your family. The song's lyrics have a lot of personal references and meaning to me, but I believe that pretty much anyone can relate to it as well!
lyrics
When I was young,
My mother told I came from
The farthest planet from the Sun.
And when there's nothing left to say,
I hope to return one day.
Since I could crawl,
I'd always find new ways to fall,
But my battle scars let me recall,
That every time I was in need,
My family would be there for me.
When I was young,
My mother told I came from
The farthest planet from the Sun.
And when there's nothing left to say,
I hope to return one day.
And even when the clocks run short on time,
I'll always have these things to reminisce
Until I come back home.
I'd watch the world,
And when I thought I'd seen it all I would curl
Up in a ball until I'd wake up and unfurl.
But every year to my surprise I would see,
The world had changed in front of me.
I used to dream,
Of flying cars and everlasting ice cream,
Of trips to Mars and what it's like on Saturn's rings,
But if I only had one chance to go to space,
In a heartbeat I would always choose that place.
'Cause when I was young,
My mother told I came from
The farthest planet from the Sun.
And when there's nothing left to say,
I hope to return one day.
And even when the clocks run short on time,
I'll always have these things to reminisce,
Yeah even when the clocks run short on time,
I'll always have these things to reminisce
Until I come back home.
Home
When I was young, when I was young,
I came from the farthest planet from the Sun.
And when there's nothing left to say,
I know that I will be returning one day.
I'm coming home, home, I'm coming home.
When I should pass and can no longer breath,
I know nothing will take these memories,
So on my way to where I came to be,
I'll be looking back at blue and green
Until you find your way home with me.

Nothing breeds intensely personal songs more than change. A change of scenery and life itself is something that Liam is
intimately familiar with; having moved through 3 continents in under 2 decades. Part-Kiwi, Part-Filipino and Part-Spanish; Liam Cloud is anything but alien to change and nostalgia reflected in songs like "I Came from Pluto", "I Miss You" and "Two Kisses"....more
